Just wanted to let everyone know that my bristlenose have spawned. I have somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 babies swimming in one of my tanks. This is the third time they have spawned. The first two times I wasn't able to get them before they became dinner for my cichlids...

Have your ottos had a sucessful spawn? If so that is awesome. I also keep shrimp, cherrys and red claws...

Re: Bristlenose plecos Breeding
yeah I keep a couple ottos in my fry tank so I don't get lonely in here and one day I saw two littler ottos and I was like "wait my ottos shrunk?" but then I checked and I still have the other three, so for a month there I have five ottos, but then two died in a power outage, so back to three.
I have also always wanted cherry shrimps but I haven't had a chance to grab some yet. Do they eat fish fry? If not I can add em to my fry tank:D Its all mossy in there<3 no i have only had ghost shrimpies before.

Re: Bristlenose plecos Breeding
The cherries should do just fine in the fry tank, although the fry will munch on the baby shrimp. Enough of the babies should survive to keep the shrimp population going strong. My red claws look alot like ghosties but have red claws. They are kind of mean, little guys with a big attitude...

Re: Bristlenose plecos Breeding
yeah that sounds about right, but at the auction I can get them for half that or cheaper, and they are home bred so they are hopefully not disease ridden:D
