the pavons is a wonderful looking coral that would make a nice addition to any tank. it will grow in a variety of ways one of which is to spiral outwards or upwards giving it a cool look. although it may not be the most colorful it is still an attractive coral. it has a few common names such as cactus (kinda looks like a beavertail cactus), potatoe chip, or lettuce coral. this coral forms thin plates like branches with pollyps making it look fuzzy. sps are usually more difficult to care for when being compared to lps corals, however once established teh pavona coral is fairly hardy requiring moderate to high light level and strong current. calcium, strontium, and trace minerals should be added to the water for optimal growth and good health. this coral originates from the indian ocean and can range in color from brown to green
